Khabib Nurmagomedov has announced that he will not defend his lightweight title against Tony Ferguson amid coronavirus fears.

The two UFC stars were due to meet in New York on April 18 and there were reports that it was going to be staged behind closed doors.

UFC president Dana White has repeatedly announced his intention to stage the show, despite it having to be moved from Brooklyn following the partial US crackdown on the spread of the virus.

But with New York and large parts of the world now under lockdown because of COV-19 all parties have decided to cancel the event.
