Coronavirus cases in India near 3,000-mark, death toll at 68. State-wise tally

India witnessed a record surge in coronavirus count today as nearly 600 fresh cases were reported in last 24 hours. This was the highest single-day count since the coronavirus outbreak in the country.

The total number of COVID-19 patients in India has surged to 2,902. Delhi, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh registered a huge jump in number of cases this week.

The death toll in the country has climbed to 68. At least 12 new deaths were recorded in last 24 hours. There are 2,650 active coronavirus patients in the country, according to ministry of health and welfare.

As many as 183 people have been recovered from the deadly disease. Maharashtra remained the worst affected state in the country with 423 coronavirus cases.
