A couple whose plans to get married today were scuppered by the coronavirus lockdown instead spent their evening eating a frozen pizza on their sofa.
Ian and Ashley Hutchinson had planned an intimate ceremony at Bishop Auckland Registry Office this morning. Their wedding, at 10.30am, was due to be low-key with just a couple of witnesses - and Ian believes it could have gone ahead if people had followed government advice.
They had already moved their big day forward by a week, expecting more stringent measures to be brought in by the government, Chronicle Live reports.
