Australian reality show Dancing With The Stars has been slammed for completely disregarding social distancing rules that could save lives amid the global coronavirus pandemic.

The popular Channel 10 show has axed its live studio audience – following the likes of Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway – but its celebrity contestants have been filmed completely ignoring advice and continuing to physically interact with each other.

Contestants and hosts were seen huddled tightly in groups while the judges sat much closer than the advised two metres apart on Sunday night's show.

Views took to Twitter to express their anger at the celebs and the programme for not following the rules. One slammed: “Is Dancing with the Stars an essential service?
