Desperate NHS staff have been forced to crowdfund so they can buy personal protective equipment [PPE] amid shortages across the UK.
The availability of PPE has been a major issue in the coronavirus outbreak as at least 35 NHS staff have lost their lives while fighting the disease on the frontline.
It comes as the Mirror launched the “Protect Us” campaign on behalf of all those serving Britain at its time of need, demanding PPE for all NHS staff, carers, cleaners, porters, transport workers and anyone else at risk.
Our campaign is highlighting the shortages of PPE available as NHS workers are forced to fly in their own gear after raising millions through crowdfunding.
