The mum of Scotland's youngest coronavirus survivor was left in tears today after seeing the NHS staff who saved her baby's life.
Peyton Maguire was born prematurely and diagnosed with covid-19 at just three weeks old. She was just 3lbs 5oz when she was born eight weeks before her due date.
Appearing on Good Morning Britain today, Peyton's dad Adrian told host Lorraine Kelly that the experience as "mind-numbing" and that he "couldn't get his head around it". "I thought, 'I'm never going to see my daughter again," he said, but said that she was now, thankfully, "absolutely fine right now".
Peyton's mum Tracy and dad Adrian were surprised during the programme by videos made by the NHS staff who nursed Peyton back to health.
