Coronavirus outbreak at Network Rail's Manchester city centre office

Network Rail has confirmed nine workers based at their Manchester city centre office have tested positive for COVID-19.The outbreak at the Manchester Square One building is understood to have affected staff based on the second floor.The organisation, which owns, operates and develops the country's railways, has responded by carrying out a deep clean of the areas where the staff had been.

It has reported the cases to Public Health England and ensured they have the right safety measures in place.The positive workers are now self-isolating at home.Nicola Uijen, health, safety and environment director for Network Rail’s North West & Central region, said: "Nine Network Rail colleagues who work at Manchester Square One have tested positive for.
