More than 250 NHS Ayrshire & Arran healthcare heroes have tested positive for coronavirus. Figures released by health board bosses today show that 252 frontline workers have now contracted the deadly bug.
This is a rise of 36 from the previous week.A further 15 household residents have also tested positive for coronavirus.A total of 1,067 tests have been carried out on the key workers and a further 219 tests have been given to family members/household contacts of members of staff.Staff testing figures released by the health board relates to the period between Sunday, March 22 and Sunday, April 26.Earlier the Scottish Government confirmed there are now 721 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ayrshire and Arran.Dr Crawford McGuffie, NHS Ayrshire
