The Department of Health has reported eight further Covid-19-related deaths and 309 new cases of the disease. There are 51 patients with Covid-19 in intensive care units.
In Northern Ireland, two further deaths of patients who had previously tested positive for Covid-19 were reported and another 159 cases of the virus were notified by the Department of Health.
This morning, there were 76 patients with the virus in hospital, eight of whom were in intensive care. Speaking at the Department of Health's Covid-19 briefing, Chair of the NPHET’s Epidemiological Modelling Advisory Group Professor Philip Nolan said they have seen significant and positive improvements of all indicators of the disease over the last two weeks.
