There have been 383 new cases of Covid-19 reported by the Department of Health, as well as two deaths. There are 144 people with Covid-19 being treated in hospitals around the country, with 41 of these in intensive care units.
The number of Covid-19 related deaths here is 4,908 and the total number of cases is now 250,672. Of the cases notified today, 194 are men and 189 are women, of which 79% are under the age of 45.
The median age of today's cases is 28 years old. Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan warned that the virus is still circulating in the community and is still a risk, particularly to people who have not yet been vaccinated. "As we move closer to the easing of restrictions on 10 May, we can look forward to opportunities to
