Covid-19 vaccination will be mandatory for NHS staff from April

Frontline NHS and social care workers in England will be legally required to be vaccinated against Covid-19 from next spring, the health secretary has confirmed.

Sajid Javid told MPs in the House of Commons that vaccination would be a legal requirement for NHS staff from April 1 next year.

Delivering a Covid-19 update, Mr Javid said: “Having considered the consultation responses, the advice of my officials and NHS leaders including the chief executive of the NHS, I have concluded that all those working in the NHS and social care will have to be vaccinated.
