Another Covid-19 variant has been detected in France, according to experts. First discovered in Marseille, the infection was found in coronavirus patients from Forcalquier in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence region.
It comes as the world continues to battle the deadly virus, with cases of the Omicron variant spreading throughout Scotland and the rest of the globe.
The alarm was sounded by experts at the IHU Mediterranee Infection in Marseille, reports The Express. An announcement was made on social media with the new strain - dubbed IHU - registered under the name B.1.640.2 on the Global Initiative on Sharing Avian Influenza Data system.
