WILMINGTON, Del. - Activists are calling for answers and an officer on administrative duty following an arrest caught on camera inside a local store. "The police department is really hurting Black folks," said President of the Delaware NAACP Richard Smith.
He is outraged seeing surveillance video showing a Wilmington police officer arresting a man. The video is being shared across social media.
The NAACP calls it excessive use of force by police. "This is unacceptable. The police department don’t train like that. This tells me that something is wrong with the police department," said Smith.
The video shows a man who police say is 44-year-old Dwayne Brown appearing to make a purchase inside 3 C’s Food Mart in Southbridge.
