Eleven pensioners have died of suspected cases of coronavirus in just two weeks at a care home in Paisley. Officials at Elderslie Care Home confirmed that each of the residents died after showing symptoms consistent with Covid-19 since the beginning of April.
A further 13 residents inside the home, which cares for 106 elderly people, have also displayed symptoms associated with the virus.None of the residents have so far tested positive for the deadly bug.
Staff inside the facility, which is operated by Advinia Health Care, are now following strict infection control protocols as provided by Health Protection Scotland.
