The Emergency Measures in the Public Interest Bill has passed all stages in the Seanad without a vote. It now goes to President Michael D Higgins to be signed into law.
The proposed legislation provides for regulations and income supports, aimed at reducing the spread of coronavirus and to diminish its negative impact on the economy.
It is the final sitting of the Upper House before an election count which takes place next week. The Seanad is made up of 60 members - 49 of those are elected, and 11 are appointed directly by the Taoiseach.
