ITV soap Emmerdale will run only three episodes per week as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. The Yorkshire based soap was confirmed yesterday to be axing filming along with Coronation Street for the foreseeable future.
Now Emmerdale has confirmed that the show will run at a reduced weekly number of episodes to keep the soap on our screens for as long as possible.
ITV announced in a statement: "Following yesterday’s announcement that filming of Coronation Street and Emmerdale will be suspended, ITV has taken the decision to reduce Emmerdale's transmission pattern to three episodes per week from Monday 30 March.
