The 2020 Emmy Awards are going virtual. Due to the ongoing pandemic, it has been announced that upcoming awards show will be held virtually, producers – including host Jimmy Kimmel – informed nominees on Wednesday (July 29). “As you’ve probably guessed, we’re not going to be asking you to come to the Microsoft Theatre in downtown LA on September 20th,” the letter states, as obtained by Variety. “This year, it’s still going to be TV industry’s biggest night out… but we’ll come to you!” As of right now, the producers are still working out the specifics of the virtual ceremony, including which elements will be live and if winners will notified ahead of the broadcast. “As ABC and the Television Academy continue to formulate plans for the Emmys
