The Merseyside derby on Saturday between Liverpool and Everton will not be affected by the city being plunged into the highest tier of England's new lockdown system.
Various local businesses are expected to close from Wednesday as part of the regulations of a 'tier three' lockdown under the Government's latest proposal.
A final decision is yet to be made on whether the city will face the heaviest restrictions possible, but the news should have no bearing on Saturday's fixture.
