Falkland Islands cleared of landmines, 38 years after war

Thousands of leftover landmines remained on the Falkland Islands for nearly 40 years after Britain’s war with Argentina, endangering the safety of the South Atlantic islands’ residents.

Now, after years of painstaking efforts, all of those mines have been finally removed. As Crystal Goomansingh reports, it’s thanks in part to a treaty signed in Canada. .
