The principal of a Cork primary school has told RTÉ News she believes a significant outbreak of Covid-19 in the school could have been prevented if there had been a greater sharing of information between public health authorities and the school.
Gaelscoil Uí Drisceoil has been forced to close for two weeks and mass testing of the schools 435 pupils and their teachers has begun today.
It comes after a significant number of children and some staff at the school tested positive. Public health officials will meet the principal of the Glanmire school, as well as representatives from patron body, An Foras Patrúnachta, and teachers' union, the INTO, this afternoon to discuss concerns related to the outbreak.
