Four guests onboard the MS Zaandam cruise ship have died as almost 150 people onboard have fallen ill with 'coronavirus-like' symptoms.
The vessel is currently off the coast of Panama with many of its guests suffering from influenza-like symptoms. "Holland America Line can confirm that four older guests have passed away on Zaandam," the cruise line said in a statement.
The Miami Herald reports nearly 150 onboard are sick, with the captain announcing the deaths to passengers and crew today. The ship left Argentina with 1,243 passengers and 586 crew members.
It is now waiting for permission to pass through the Panama Canal to dock in Florida. Around 300 Brits are stuck onboard the ship after it was turned away from ports.
