From today, Poundland has reopened 33 of its stores across the UK. The retailer kept most of its 800 shops open for essential shopping during the coronavirus lockdown, although it temporary shut around 100 branches in April.
These stores that were closed had another outlet close by or were in a shopping centre which faced difficulties remaining open.
Poundland announced it would reopen more branches with strict health and safety measures in place last week. Security guards will be at the door to limit the number of customers and floor markers are there to help people keep a two metre distance.
Other measures include perspex screens to protect employees and customers, as well as “rigorous hygiene routines” which include workers washing
