Northern Ireland's Health Minister Robin Swann has warned that further Covid-19 restrictions are needed before the end of this month to avoid hospitals being overwhelmed.
That would mean the planned easing of restrictions being suspended. Cafes and close contact services like hairdressers north of the border are preparing to open their doors tomorrow, while pubs and restaurants are scheduled to re-open next Friday.
The Stormont Executive is meeting today to discuss the latest medical and scientific advice, and to consider whether restrictions should be extended.
It's the first meeting since a bitter political row last week, when the DUP controversially vetoed proposals to extend all current restrictions for a further two weeks.
