Gardeners’ World presenter Monty Don has shared an adorable throwback of his dog Nigel as a puppy, after the beloved pooch died.

Thanking fans for their messages after he revealed the sad news on Monday, Monty returned to social media to share with us more images of his golden retriever.

He wrote on Tuesday morning: ‘Thank you for all your lovely and kind messages about Nigel. ‘They are overwhelming.
