A grandmother who survived both world wars and the Spanish flu outbreak of 1919 died hours after being diagnosed with coronavirus.
Hilda Churchill died at Kenyon Lodge care home, in Little Hulton earlier today. The 108-year-old did not have severe symptoms and her family had hoped she would pull through to celebrate her 109th birthday on April 5, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Hilda first showed signs of the virus four days ago and a test came back positive, confirming she was suffering from Covid-19.
