A lone gunman has shot and killed 10 people including a police officer in a 12-hour shooting rampage in Nova Scotia, Canada.
Police have said that their suspect for the shootings, Gabriel Wortman was also confirmed dead following the attack. Constable Heidi Stevenson had been on the force for 23 years before she was killed in the line of duty on Sunday, she leaves behind two children. “Our hearts are heavy with grief and sadness today as we have lost one of our own,” said Brian Sauve, president of the National Police Federation union. “A second dedicated member was injured in the line of duty." The force added that the second injured officer is in hospital but expected to recover.
