Family and colleagues have paid heartfelt tributes to a swimming coach, who has died of COVID-19. Brian Barlow died on Saturday night after contracting coronavirus, while in hospital for a routine operation.
The 80-year-old from Redvales, Bury, leaves behind his loving wife of 53 years, Freda, as well as two children and four grandchildren.
Brian's daughter Lisa McSharry led the touching tributes to him. She said: "He was just fabulous and just did everything for everyone. "He showed interest in everything his grandchildren did, whether that was swimming, running, football, or helping his eldest granddaughter through her PhD. "He was very involved in swimming and must have taught hundreds of kids to swim.
