Health board to take over East Ayrshire Community Hospital in £12m deal

Ayrshire & Arran has today announced the acquisition of East Ayrshire Community Hospital (EACH) in a £12 million deal. The hospital had been owned by Cumnock SPV Limited (and Cumnock SPV Holdings Limited), who also operated the hospital following a Public Finance Initiative (PFI) contract since August 2000.

East Ayrshire Community Hospital had originally been procured through one of the first PFI health contracts in Scotland. The acquisition of the company, including all its building assets, from BAM PPP, has been fully funded by the Scottish Government.The deal allows the ownership of the facility and property interests to be secured in advance of the end of the existing PFI contract in August 2025.
