Hospital numbers down, but NPHET warns situation 'precarious'

There has been a significant drop in the number of patients in hospital with Covid-19, according to latest figures from the Health Service Executive.

Last night it reported 325 patients, a reduction of 32 cases. The number of patients in intensive care has also decreased by four to 76.

Meanwhile, the Vaccination Task Force said the campaign is on target to have those aged 70 years and older fully vaccinated by mid-May.

It said there is "no drift" in the schedule and those aged 70 and older will have received their first dose by mid-April and second dose by mid-May.
