People who have to self-isolate for more than a week due to coronavirus can get a sick note using a new online NHS service. The note will provide evidence to employers that you have been advised to self-isolate by the NHS because you are either showing symptoms of coronavirus or live with someone who is.
The online service aims to reduce the pressure on GP surgeries and prevents people needing to leave their homes to obtain a sick note.
Employees are allowed to self-certify for the first seven days off work - but after that employers may ask for evidence that they need to be off for medical reasons.
