Hundreds of thousands of insects have mysteriously washed up on the shores of the Yorkshire Coast, covering huge parts of Cayton Bay, near Scarborough.
Brit Sue Wetherill came across the bizarre scene while walking on the beach on Monday. She told HullLive she was out for her one hour of exercise a day, as allowed under the government's coronavirus lockdown.
Sue, who lives nearby, said it "was unusual" for the beach but there was "masses and masses" of live creatures on the sand. "I was out doing my hour exercise and I walked along the beach and could see what looked like tiny little sea pods," she told Hull Live.
