A heartbroken son who lost his dad to coronavirus has posted a poignant video message urging people to stay at home. Stu Ivany, 40, has been left heartbroken after his father, Douglas Ivany, 79 succumbed to the virus on Thursday (April 2) evening.

The granddad was forced to spend his final days in hospital on his own, due to strict safety measures. Douglas, who lived near Wigan, leaves behind his wife of 45 years, Claire, two sons Stu and Paul, and seven grandchildren.

Claire now has to isolate on her own for 14 days after holding her husband's hand while he was in hospital. Following his death, Stu, a dad-of-three, uploaded a video on his Facebook page, demanding people take the virus seriously.
