Iceland is not performing at Eurovision 2021 anymore. The country’s entry, Dadi og Gagnamagnid, will no longer perform live at the event after one of the group members tested positive for coronavirus amid the pandemic, organized confirmed on Wednesday (May 19), via AP. “Daði og Gagnamagnið have taken the difficult decision to withdraw from performing in this year’s live Eurovision Song Contest shows, as they only want to perform together as a group,” organizers confirmed in their statement.
The group’s song “10 Years” will still compete in the competition, and a dress rehearsal recording will be used during the broadcast of Semi-Final 2 on Thursday (May 20). “A member of @gagnamagnid got a positive test result this morning.
