James Bulger killer Jon Venables is to bid for a release from jail. The Parole Board will consider his case for release after he returned to prison in 2017 for possessing indecent images of children.
He is serving a 40-month sentence, which he is now more than half-way through. The Parole Board has confirmed it will determine if a hearing is needed to decide if he will be released.
