Jo Whiley's sister will have her covid vaccination this weekend, a month after she was hospitalised with the virus. The broadcaster, 55, told listeners of her BBC Radio 2 show that Frances, 53, is scheduled to have her jab in the coming days.
Her younger sister has diabetes and learning difficulties related to rare genetic disorder Cri du Chat. Frances contracted the killer virus after an outbreak at the care home where she lives, and was so poorly she was admitted to hospital.
While she fought for her life, Jo was offered her covid vaccine, prompting her to slam Government chiefs for not prioritising the more vulnerable members of the population.
