Karnataka on Thursday reported second COVID-19 death and four more positive cases, taking the total number of cases in the state to 55.
A 70-year old woman, resident of Chikkaballapura district with travel history to Mecca, succumbed to the deadly virus. Among the new cases, a 35-year old man, with no recent foreign travel history or contact history, has sparked fears of community transmission in the state. “As per present history the case has no travel history and contact history, however, he was with quality assurance section of a pharmaceutical company in Nanjangud and has been in contact with many health care professionals," the Karnataka state health department said in a statement.
