Children are more at risk of measles than coronavirus and must return to school as soon as possible, according to a top doctor.
Professor Russell Viner has urged parents to ensure children's vaccines are up to date with many having missed MMR jabs during the pandemic, but said the risk of coronavirus is "incredibly small".
The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health doctor told The Sun: "If your job is about the care of children, and if you know that the risk of them getting ill with Covid is incredibly small, you want to see schools reopen. "Last week saw yet another scientific paper telling us very, very few children become seriously ill with Covid-19.
