Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov has now revealed that the air con around him is closely monitored, with officials worried that high temperatures in the capital could make him ill. "We regulate air conditioners in the premises more carefully and avoid drafts," he told state-controlled Russia Today.Peskov's comments came just days after Putin was seen coughing during a meeting with Iranian government officials.According to Russia Today, Putin claimed the cough was caused by an air con he was sitting near because of the Iranian heat.
Russian authorities continue to deny that their leader is ill, with Peskov calling the rumours "ducks" - a Russian euphemism for hearsay.
