Leeds has officially been added to the government's coronavirus watchlist after the West Yorkshire city recorded a worrying spike in new infections.
The city has been added to Public Health England's weekly watchlist as an "area of concern" following a surge in recent weeks.
The latest seven-day infection rate in the city rose to 32.4 cases per 100,000 people and has been increasingly spread among younger people, according to health data.
The latest figures suggest many cases are scattered across different areas of the city, meaning they may be linked to social interaction and leisure activities.
