LISA Kudrow has insisted Friends was ‘progressive’ – but admits a modern remake would ‘surely not have an all-white cast’. The 56-year-old actress played Phoebe Buffay in the hit sitcom which ran from 1994 until 2004.
Lisa starred alongside Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer on the show, which is now being watched by a whole new set of young people thanks to being on Netflix.
But millenials have criticised the show for some of its storylines and character traits, as well as the fact that all six lead characters are white.
Speaking about the series, Lisa told ET Canada: "It was, at the time, progressive. "There was a guy whose wife discovered she was gay and pregnant, and they raised the child.
