ARLINGTON, Texas - An Arlington man was shot and killed while taking people who he thought wanted to buy his car on a test drive.Arlington police found 55-year-old Khudhair Hamdan dead, lying in the road on Port Richmond Way on Tuesday.Detectives say Hamdan was helping a family member sell a car through a social media app and agreed to take a potential buyer for a test drive.MORE ARLINGTON NEWS HERETwo young men arrived at Hamdan's home later that night, according to police, and the three left in the car together.Detectives believe one of the suspects pulled out a gun and shot Hamdan, who got out of the vehicle and collapsed.The suspects took off in the car.Officers later found the vehicle at the intersection of Matlock Road and Sublett Road.Surveillance images from the area show the two suspects.(Source: Arlington Police) Arlington police ask anyone with information to call 911 or Crime Stoppers of Tarrant County at 817-469-8477.Police are warning the public about meeting up with people online.APD says they have designated safe zones at each of their four patrol stations.

TARRANT COUNTY, Texas - Former Los Angeles Angels employee Eric Kay was sentenced to 22 years in federal prison for giving pitcher Tyler Skaggs pills laced with fentanyl that ended up killing him.In February, Kay was found guilty of distribution of a controlled substance resulting in death and conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute controlled substances.In 2019, the Angels were in Texas to play the Rangers when the 27-year-old Skaggs was found dead inside of his Southlake hotel room with a mix of ethanol, fentanyl and oxycodone in his system.Investigators found pills inside Skaggs' hotel room that looked like oxycodone tablets. ARLINGTON, Texas - A woman who police say set her boyfriend on fire will soon face a murder charge, according to Arlington police.According to police, 24-year-old Breana Johnson got in an argument with her 25-year-old boyfriend, Ricky Doyle, on July 18 at a gas station on East Mayfield Road.Investigators say Johnson pumped gasoline into the backseat where the victim was sitting, and intentionally set it on fire.As bystanders rushed to put out the flames with fire extinguishers, police say Johnson drove off.Johnson was arrested on one count of aggravated assault the next day.Doyle suffered burns on most of his body.

FORT WORTH, Texas - A Tarrant County jury has convicted the man charged with the death of a Fort Worth police officer.It took jurors about half an hour to find Timothy Huff guilty of capital murder.Prosecutors argued Huff was part of a dangerous armed robbery gang that had been terrorizing patrons at Latino bars in 2018.RELATED: Robbery victims testify in trial for Fort Worth Officer Garrett Hull’s murderOfficer Garrett Hull was shot and killed as he and other officers confronted the suspects. ARLINGTON, Texas - The city of Arlington says a little boy became sick and died likely from something in the water at a city park splash pad.The city admits that the splash pad and others were not properly maintained.Arlington officials say the boy was infected with a rare, brain-eating amoeba, which was detected at the splash pad after the boy became sick and passed away.The city also discovered that and other splash pads in Arlington were not properly maintained to prevent water from becoming contaminated.Tarrant County and the city of Arlington received a notice the child was in the hospital in early September and launched an investigation that revealed there were multiple gaps in the city's water testing process.

DALLAS - A Dallas woman is facing murder charges after allegedly injecting illegal silicone into a Fort Worth woman’s buttocks.Pamela Burnley, 55, was taken into custody Thursday for the death of 35-year-old Latora King in May.According to an arrest warrant affidavit, King’s family took her to the hospital a few days after she paid someone to perform a procedure on her buttocks. She developed a fever and died from a silicone pulmonary embolism.The Tarrant County Medical Examiner collected samples of the injection substance during King’s autopsy.
