NEW CASTLE, Del. - Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting at a Wawa in New Castle.Troopers were called to the 1500 block of North DuPont Parkway Tuesday night, just after 11:15, on the report of a shooting.Officials say when the troopers arrived, they found a 36-year-old woman’s car was riddled with bullets.During the investigation, it was determined a second car, parked near the woman’s car, was backing out of a parking space at the same time the woman, and her teen passengers, were attempting to pull out of a parking space.Troopers discovered a front passenger in the second car shot at the woman’s car. Six rounds of a .40 caliber were found in the woman’s vehicle.Troopers say no one was injured.

Wilmington double shooting leaves 17-year-old dead

Police: US airman, 20, dies in motorcycle accident in Dover

DOVER, Del. - Authorities say a 20-year-old member of the United States Air Force died Friday evening in Dover after he lost control of his motorcycle.According to police, the Airman was driving a Honda motorcycle eastbound on Puncheon Run Connector around 5:30 p.m.Police say the victim slammed into a guardrail after trying to negotiate a turn at a high rate of speed and sustained fatal injuries.He was reportedly pronounced dead at the scene. Police: Woman, 44, dies after rising floodwaters sweeps away car

UPPER SAUCON TOWNSHIP - Authorities say a woman died after her vehicle was swept away by rising floodwaters in Lehigh County during Tuesday's dangerous tropical storm.The woman, identified as Jane Doe by Upper Saucon Township police, was reportedly driving along the 6300 block of North Main Street just before 4:30 p.m.According to investigators, the woman's vehicle "entered high water" and she was swept downstream.Lehigh County Corners Office will perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

Police: Delaware woman dies after hit with tree branch during tropical storm

MILFORD, Del. - Authorities in Delaware are investigating what they call a "storm-related" death after a Milford woman was killed during Tuesday's dangerous weather.Police say the incident happened on North Shore Drive just before noon.The woman, whose identity has not been released, was reportedly outside assessing the damage left by Tropical Storm Isaias when he was struck by a tree branch.Officials say the Delaware Division of Forensic Science will perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

PHILADELPHIA - The eye of Tropical Storm Isaias moved across the Philadelphia area this afternoon, but the full breadth of damage has been felt across the Delaware Valley.Buckets of rain have resulted in widespread flooding in Pennsylvania and along the New Jersey coast. The National Weather Service predicts 1-3 foot storm surges in areas from Cape May beyond Tom's River.Likewise, wind gusts have downed trees, lifted roofs and even threw cars.
