Green recycling bin collections will restart in Manchester next week after being cancelled for almost a month. Manchester council had stopped collecting food and garden waste because of staff shortages caused by the coronavirus outbreak.
But bosses have confirmed that from Monday May 11 the bins will be taken every two weeks on the same day as grey bins for non-recyclable waste.
Residents have been asked not to put out any extra bags of garden waste for collection alongside their bins as they will not be picked up by the bin crews.
The town hall had cancelled collections from April 13 after announcing that household waste and other recycling would be prioritised.
