Greater Manchester’s mayor has written to the communities secretary demanding clarity on his policy for homeless people during the continuing pandemic - and confirming councils have been told to ‘draw a line’ under the policy of self-isolating them in hotels.
Andy Burnham says the government has been ‘clear’ to local authorities that rough sleepers should now be moved out of hotels, noting that there are still 800 people in that position here and calling it ‘an extremely challenging task to deliver’.
