A young woman whose beloved pooch was killed in a horror ‘hit and run’ has said she is lucky to be alive.Erin Hastie suffered a broken leg and wrist after being hit by a red Vauxhall Astra.Now she is on the mend after spending 10 days in hospital.Erin’s dog called Don, a nine-year-old Jack Russell, died at the scene.The horrifying incident happened on the B742, between Mossblown and Annbank on Saturday, May 9, about 3.15pm.The 21-year-old biomedical science student from Mossblown was out walking with her mum and other dog, Hamish, a Black Lab aged seven, who was left injured in the collision.Erin said she was “devastated” about the passing of her “furry best pal” but added: “I am extremely lucky.”Erin said: “We just saw the car coming round
