Bank of Ireland has said its response to the coronavirus pandemic will be as strong as possible and almost all its branches are remaining open as normal.
In a statement, the lender said it is committed to supporting customers through the economic difficulties cause by the outbreak. "We know that the services we provide are critical," said Francesca McDonagh, Bank of Ireland CEO.
Among the measures enabled for personal customers are payment breaks and flexible arrangements on mortgages and personal loans, the bank said.
It said it would buy back foreign currency at the rate it was sold at for customers impacted by travel disruption, and it has also waived contactless fees.
