Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

PIERS Morgan left This Morning viewers in hysterics today after aiming a cheeky coming out joke at Phillip Schofield. Good Morning Britain has been extended to 10am after Lorraine was scrapped due to the coronavirus pandemic.

This meant Piers handed over the morning show to Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield - but he couldn't help making a sassy gag.

While talking about the ongoing pandemic, Piers turned to Phillip and said: "It's weird for you, Phil - you come out and everyone goes in." Phillip came out as gay last month in an emotional interview with Holly.

But he took the joke in his stride and burst out laughing alongside his co-host. He then threw a jibe back, as after he heard a producer telling the host to wrap it up, Phillip.
