Former Motherwell favourite Marc Fitzpatrick hopes the Steelmen will be in Europe next term – despite the SPFL crisis plan falling at the first hurdle.
The SPFL last week asked clubs to terminate the Championship, League One and League Two seasons with a final decision from the clubs still to be announced.This proposal would have resulted in titles and relegations being handed out in the lower leagues, as well as granting power to end the Premiership season.
It is understood the Fir Park chiefs backed the proposal to end the campaign, but the Championship remains up in the air as they did not pass the 75 per cent threshold required.
