Residents had to be evacuated after a blaze in Thornhill.Seven fire crews were sent to tackle the fire at the Athena Beauty salon in Drumlanrig Street on Tuesday morning.And police and fire chiefs ordered residents from nearby properties to leave as a precaution.It is believed that neighbouring properties may have suffered some damage as a result of the incident.Officials believe the blaze was sparked by an electrical fault.Proprietor Marie Argue-Haslam had closed the salon three days before the fire due to coronavirus restrictions.She posted a message on Facebook after the blaze saying: “I just want to say a big thank you to everyone for all of your lovely messages.
