Neil Doncaster has revealed his anxious staff have been bombarded with vile abuse and threats of violence on the back of a controversial vote to end the season early during the coronavirus pandemic.The SPFL chief executive has come under furious fire since heading up the emergency measures to shut down Scottish football and distribute £1.8m of emergency money to clubs in the three lower leagues.A further £7.5m will also be unlocked for the top 12 clubs if the Premiership season is declared over and Celtic crowned champions.But Doncaster’s proposals have infuriated Rangers who have already called for his suspension and hope to have the entire league board put on trial by an independent QC probe after winning support from Hearts and Stranraer
